Types of connectives	Where can we use it?	Connectives
To start a new point	Beginning of a sentence	To begin with / To start with e.g. To begin with, I am John.
To add information	Beginning of the second sentence	Besides / Moreover / Furthermore / In addition e.g. Walking is much faster than taking a bus. Moreover, it is good for your body.
	Beginning of the second sentence OR middle of a sentence	also e.g. I play guitar well. I am also good at sports.
To show contrast	Beginning of a sentence	However / In contrast / On the contrary e.g. The show was short. However, it was enjoyable.
	Middle of a sentence	also e.g. I seldom smile but I am nice
To express cause and effect	Middle of a sentence	so e.g. I wear helmet when riding on a bicycle so I won’t get hurt.
	Beginning of the second sentence OR middle of a sentence	As / Since / Because / Therefore / As a result e.g. Since you are tired, it is a good time to take a break.
